Home-made chocolate recipe
By Chiropractor Dr. Annika Jende
All of the ingredients are available at the health food store.
Melt cacao butter over the lowest heat you can in a pan. You can also use coconut butter, but it does make the final product melt much more easily.
Add cacao powder – the more you add, the stronger the chocolate taste.
Stir well!
Pour the mix into a rubbery ice-cube tray. It is important that it is completely dry. Put it in the freezer and wait for about an hour, and voila!
Variations:
Things to play with (by putting in the tray beforehand): cacao nibs, dried blueberries, roasted wattle seeds, rose petals – let your imagination run wild!
You can also add organic edible essential oils, like peppermint or sweet orange, to the melted mix.
If you want a two-tone chocolate, put some of the white chocolate in the ice-cube tray first, and freeze, and then subsequently pour the brown mixture on top.
If you absolutely have to have a sweetener, use maple syrup, also add it to the melted mix in the pan, but you have to stir it in really well, otherwise it just ends up a sticky mess in the bottom half of your chocolate.
Enjoy!
